About:Chinese Consulate in Montreal

12 yr old Canadian son is flying Vancouver to Beijing to Ulaan Baatar (less than 24 hrs in Beijing)

Would it be wise to get him a Chinese visa (even though he will be in transit in Beijing less than 24 hrs) to avoid any problems? How and where does he get one?

Regards
Ron Zeidel

Ronald, if you want to make sure that no problem will happen, you can get him a transit permit, which I think is not necessary. Anyway, if you want to get one, you should apply for it at the CVASC in Canada by providing his passport, recent photo, application form, flight tickets, and maybe his birth certificate if he is accopanied by parents.
