Hotel (very) near the Stone Forest

Hi,
I will be next August a few hours in Kunming, just one night, arriving arround 21.30 to the Airport, and stoppover to the next destination, taking a new flight next day at 16.00
I don't know what is best, to take a taxi from Airport to a Hotel near the Forest (i don't know if there is any over there), to visit sooner the next day and come back to the Airport on time, or if it's enought to sleep on Kun mimg city, drive next day to the forest, visit, and come back after the visit to the airport?
What do you think? Do you know any hotel near the Forest?
