My parents had a visa for 30 days in April, but trip cancel, postponed to sept. Can It be extended?

Trip/cruise cancelled due to family emergency. They had 30 days single entry April-July. Trip now is Sept 11. Can they extend or fix this one? They would love to spend 2 days in Shanghai at the end of the cruise. Sept27-29.
