About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Fly from MELBOURNE to Guangzhou-PEK-Europe with a 72 hours free transit visa.

THAT IS MY TRIP: MELBOURNE-GUANGZHOU-SWA - 48 hours
Then SWA-PEK (stopover some hours) - EUROPE : coming back , can I enjoy my 72 free transit to go out from the PEK airport during the stopover and after, come back to the airport and take my plane to Europe?

If not possible, can I leave for some hours and come back to PEK and apply for a new 72 hours free transit? And in alternative, MEL-SHANGHAI -GUANGZHOU-SWA -PEK-EUROPE with one 72 hours free transit? thanks.

Hi Missy! Does SWA refer to Shantou airport? If so, I’m afraid your route does not fulfill the requirements. You are not allowed to transit in different Chinese cities if you want to use this 72-hour free transit policy.

On your way back, you can exit from mainland PRC first, and then return to Beijing, then fly to Europe. In this way, it’s likely that you can get the free transit this time.

Thanks a lot. I will leave for one night to Hong Kong and come back to PEK where i Will ask for the free transit. Yes, Swa is Shantou airport.
