my return leg to sydney (aus) is seoul/ beijing layover 48hrs/ guangzhou (transit)/ sydney. does this leg qualify for 72 hour visa

Dave, I’m afraid the leg is not qualified. You are not allowed to transit in two Chinese cities when using the 72 hour free transfer service.
