Harry, I never heard that Chinese people need to submit invitation letters to acquire their Chinese passports. They just need to submit their household registration book and ID cards, instead.

Thanks for the information, but I already know about this. I forgot to tell you is that my friend is Weiwu'er/ Uyghur Minority from Frontier Province who is a house doctor in a hotel, and these people are treated differently. My other friend who is Chinese/ Christian has been treated differently when he was in Beijing studying for his degree because he lives in Xinjiang!!! Does this have an affect to this situation??? What are the requirements for application for passport for these people??? Thanks.

Well...so I think it's probable that the requirements for them are different. However, the officials won't tell what are the differences. Just provide the documents required by them.
