Is there any way I can do a short trip without visa? without flying to third country unnecessarily?

Seems 72 hour visa only applies to transit. must be going to a third country. I am(was) planning a weekend trip, but returning to same airport/country. ie, a single trip. But your website states this is not allowable. The time taken off work to goto consulate in other city to apply, and return-again time off work, to pick up, makes a short trip not viable. Rgds Ross
