About:Shangri-La Travel

travelling with an elderly age 88, if we flight in from Kunming to Shangri-la, will it b ok for her?

I am concern about AMS. TQ

Hi, you don't need concern about the AMS. If the elderly is healthy enough, the flight crew will just let him board. If he looks a little weak, apart from being accompanied by an escort, you'd better prepare a medical certificate in case. For more info, I suggest you consult your airline in advance.

Hi, this is my 2 cents worth.
When we were at kunming airport, we chatted with an airport officer and she advised us to move slowly from kunming-Dali-Lijiang so that we have time to get use to the altitude. I would not try to fly to shangrila directly from kunming if I'm at 88. At only early 40s, we experience some dizziness and shortness of breath upon arrival at the jade dragon snow mountain cable car. It took awhile for us to adjust to the height. That was after hiking tiger leaping gorge and been in lijiang for a day. Also at jade dragon snow mountain, we saw a woman in her late 40s collapsed while walking due to the altitude.
