About:Beijing Great Wall

We are going to Beijing soon (in May), and were thinking about camping at some part of Great Wall.

And here's the problem; Which section to choose and is it allowed to just go there and set up a camp for the night? We were hoping to choose a section which is in its natural state and very, very likely to be free of tourists and/or by-wanderers. I've read that Gubeikou's Panlongshan section might be suitable? But how far is it from entrance point of Gubeikou and how far from Gubeikou itself is from Beijing? Also how to get to Gubeikou from the downtown area, if that place is idd suitable for camping. (One more note: We do not have camping equipment, is it required at that section of the wall?)

And if it is not suitable area, can you recommend any place instead? :) Also, if camping is not allowed, what consequences will there be if caught? (Not suggesting that we will anyway, just out of curiosity) ^^
Let's go with these questions at first :)
Thanks

Sam, camping is forbidden on the wall. However, many people camped secretly. You know, some sections are wild and there are not conservators in these sections.

Panlongshan and Wohushan are just two wild sections. However, you might encounter some villagers who stop you and ask you to buy the tickets. I read on the internet that some people who camped at these sections. So you might camp there too. If you plan to camp, then you'd better bring your tents and sleeping bags.

Personally, I don't suggest you go camping on the wall, especially at the wild sections. It's too dangerous. You can actually stay at the farm houses at the foot of the wall. It's safer.

From Beijing to Bubeikou, you can take bus from Dongzhimen to Miyun county. You need to get off at Miyun Bus Station and then take a mini-van to the wall.
