About:China Transit Visa

Can I go to Beijing for the weekend (48 hours) to meet friends and leave to HK without a visa?

Hello,
I am a US Citizen living in Lao, PDR. If so, how do I apply for the stay permit at the airport? Thank you!

Gina, if you fly from the Laos to Beijing, stay for 48 hours, and then fly to HK, you are qualified for the 72 hour free transit policy, so the transit permit is not needed. Just go to the counter which is dedicated for providing 72hr free transit and go thorugh all formalities. Then you can leave the airport.
