About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Do I need a visa or am I covered under this 72-hr rule?

Hello, I am from the U.S.A. and plan to arrive from Manila on Saturday June 27 in the afternoon. Then I plan to depart to NYC via Tokyo on Tuesday June 30th via Tokyo. And how difficult is it to register at the local police dept? Thank you.

Hi, Alex! May I know which city do you plan to transit in? If the 72-hour free transit policy has been implemented in this city, it's possible that you don't need the transit permit. It's very easy to register at the local police dept. If you live in a hotel, the hotel will do it for you.
