About:Shenzhen City-Bus & Taxi

FROM LUOHU TO XICHONG BEACH

A group of friends are planning to go to Xichong Beach to camp overnight. Is there a way we can hire a van and driver to take us? Or is public bus the only way to go?

You need to give me the exact starting place. Thus I can give you detail route.
Generally speaking, most people will choose to go to there by taking buses. You can take bus no. E11 and get off at Nanao General Bus Station first. Then take bus no. M232 to Xiyong Overseas Chinese School. The beach is within 500m away.

Or you can also hire a private car at downtown area. The fare is CNY 250 to 350 for the single trip.
You can choose the way you like.
