About:Shanghai City-Bus

Suggestions for transfer from Pudong airport to Gand Park Jiayou Hotel, Shanghai

I will arrive on Monday April 27 and wondering whether I should take a taxi or use the subway to the hotel. The subways journeys appear to be rather long.

I will visit the Conference centre on 2 days and travel to the South Bund and the South Railway Station Square amongst others.

All starting from 9 Xin JinQiao Road.

1. For an efficient travel, I suggest you take a taxi and it takes around 40min.
2. By conference centre, if you refer to the international conference center, you can take bus 961 from Jinqiao Road Chuanqiao Road, and get off at Lujiazui. After arrival, walk northwards to reach it. By taxi it would cost around CNY40 and take 20 minutes.
3. For the South Bund, walk to Jinzang Road Xin Jinqiao Road bus stop to take bus no. 995 and get off at Pudian Road Dongfang Road. Then walk to Pudian Road metro station to take subway line 4 and get off at Nanpu Bridge. After that, walk to the South Bund.
4. To the South Train Station, walk to Xinjinqiao Road Jinzang Road bus stop to take bus Shangchuan Line and get off at People’s Square and transfer to subway line 1 to the South Station.

Well, from the airport to your hotel, the cab fare is CNY 120 to 130 in the day time. :-)

Final question, where is the best place to exchange currency (Pounds)?

Here in the UK
In the hotel in China
Bank in China
Any other suggestion

It's OK either in UK or China, rate is the same. If in China, banks, especially Bank of China is recommended. It saves than the hotel.
