ask for suggestion during transit time in beijing

Question

I have 9hrs transit time free from 12PM to 9PM. Is it possible if I want to have a short tour from airport to Forbidden City during this time? Otherwise any suggestion?By the way, Im Vietnamese, I fly to US and transit at Beijing, can I get 72hrs visa?Tks. Mun

Nine hours are enough to visit the Palace Museum. To have a full visit, you can rent a taxi for the round trip. However, I’m afraid you are not qualifies for the 72h visa free policy. As your trabsit duration is within 24h, you can apply for a stay permit upon arrival, with which you are allowed to leave the airport for sightseeing.
