Romanian citizen in Hong Kong for less than 1 day

Flying from New Zealand to London via Hong Kong. I have almost 18 hours waiting time in Hong Kong for the connecting flight to London. Can I exit the airport and come back to my flight afterwards with just my Romanian passport? If not then can I apply in the UK even if I do not have a resident permit? Thank you

Ela, it is certain that you can exit the airport and then back to catch the connecting flight. Hong Kong grants Romanian citizens a stay of no more than 90 days without the need of holding entry permit.
