bus from hongcun to tangkou

Question

We are doing the village first from Tunxi and then Mt Huangshan the next day.  Is it easy to find a bus from Hongcun to Tangkou or should we got from Hongcun to Tunxi, then to Tangkou?  If we can do the first option, how many buses and is it easy to find where they start from?  Many thanks.

Yes, there are direct buses from Hongcun to Tangkou, the mountain scenic area. Buses are scheduled at 06:50, 09:50, 12:00 and 13:30. I heard the boarding sites of the buses can be easily found in Hongcun. Just ask a local person on the spot.

i just left hongcun today. there were no public busses to tangkou. i asked numerous officials. they said the sign was wrong. they recommended a private shared car. it cost 30 yuan a piece. there was also a road blockage which might have caused the cancellation. just letting people know.

Yes, it's ok for you to hire a private car to go from Hongcun to Tangkou. Generally speaking, the mini van costs CNY 150-200 for the single trip.
