About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Can this be used in conjunction with obtaining an entry permit for travel to tibet?

agent says must first stop in bejing overnight to obtain visa, etc. for tibet. Then go to tibet and then to nepal and india.

Tom, as far as I know, foreigners do need the travel permit for Tibet, but I never heard you have to obtain it by first stopping in Beijing.
