Sydney - Beijing - Madrid. What kind of visa would I need? How does it work with the luggage?

Hi,
I am traveling from Sydney and have a 18h45m layover in Beijing before flying to Madrid, and want to get out of the airport to the city then and come back. Thank you!!

Hello Diana! No entry permit is required for you, because you can make use of the 72-hour transit permit exemption policy. You can apply for using this policy on the spot upon arrival at Beijing airport. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to collect the luggage.
