Laxman, currently, you are not able to apply for the permanent entry permit. However, you can choose to apply for an S1 type, which allows you to stay for quite a long time. The basically required documents may include: a passport, a photocopy of the passport’s photo page, a filled-out V.2013 application form attached with a passport size photo, an invitation letter from your son, the photocopy of his passport and Chinese residence permit, the original and photocopy of his birth certificate, your personal statement, and other documents that the consular officer view necessary to provide.
