Spouse along for business trip

Hi, I might get a 4 month contract for work (unsure of the visa type but is covered by the company employing me, it might be a performance one of some kind) but I would like it if my wife could accompany me on the trip. Any suggestions as to which type to apply for?

Riaan, I assume that your employer will apply a Z type for you. If so, you should get a S2 type for your wife. Aside from her passport, passport copy, the application form, recent photo, you should also submit an invitation letter from your employer, your marriage certificate, and a photocopy of your passport.
