Z Visa Inquiries

Hi I'm Ajan from Malaysia. I've applied the Z type and already entered China and already received the Alien Employment Permit but before end of the 30 days I travelled to Hong Kong for medical treatment and when I wanted to reenter China the Immigration Officer asked me to apply entry permit to enter China. May I know whether can I apply Z type in Hong Kong? Can I get the multiple entry even though I'm working in China I still need to go to Hong Kong.

Thank you.

Ajan, if you don’t have HK residence permit, it’s almost impossible to apply for Z type from there, so I think you may have to go back to apply for the Z type again. If you can get it, after you enter China, you should change the Z type into a temporary residence permit at the local exit and entry office. The temporary residence permit will enable you to go to Hong Kong and reenter without entry permits.
