About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

Which type of visa to apply to attend an academic conference?

I'm a Malaysian, residing in Japan with resident card. Need to attend a conference in Beijing in May, I already have the invitation letter from the conference organization committee. Do I apply for the F type? What documents do I need to prepare?

Latiff, you're right. You should apply for an F type. You need to prepare the following documents: a valid passport, a photocopy of the passport's data page, a filled-out application form affixed with your recently taken color bare-headed photo, the original and photocopy of your resident card, and the invitation letter.
