About:China Transit Visa

do I need to apply for a transit visa??

Hi I am going on a cruise in September from Japan to Australia and we stop one day in Xiamen and Hong Kong,

Gordon, the transit permit is not needed for you stoppage in Xiamen and Hong Kong. You can make use of the 24 hour free transit in Xiamen. As for Hong Kong, it allows Australian citizens to stay without the entry permit for 90 days.
