About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

london to beijing, transit, then onto HK?

Hi, I plan to travel to Beijing from London, stop for 2/3 days in Beijing to visit family, and then fly to Hong Kong for about a week. Then I will be entering China (Guangzhou) from HK and staying there for a month. After I will leave China for a few weeks but fly back to Beijing to stay for a few weeks more. Will I be able to get the free transit stop if I go back into China? This way, I plan to get a double entry Visa, although technically entering China three times.
Thank you.

Hi Lucy! You can enjoy the 72 hours free transit policy for your first visit in Beijing, so no entry permit is required for that time. Afterward, you will enter mainland twice. Therefore, the double-entry permit will suffice for your travel in mainland China.
