About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

i want to know if i drive to Guangzhou at 9am and leave at 9pm(12 hours) do i need a visa?

Hi.. i am a USA citizen flying to hong kong... staying in hong kong for 8 days.

if i do that for 7 days? keep driving back and forth.. i sleep in Hong Kong and visit Guangzhou.. do i need to apply?

Yes David, each time you enter Guangzhou you need to hold an entry permit.

Entry permit is a toursit L type permit used for entering mainland. You should get it in the consulate or embassy in the US before you travel to Hong Kong.
