do you think it is possible to obtain a visa without a return plane ticket?

Hi! I plan to fly from BKK to China (guangxi) and later on move on and exit China by train to Vietnam. I'll later on fly from SGN-BKK and then home BKK-AMS. Seeing that i'll be leaving China by train..? (It's not possible yet to buy the train ticket before-hand as evidence.)

Alex, if you can't provide the ticket for exiting from China, you can submit an invitation letter instead. You can get this letter through your friend in China (if any) or travel agencies.

I don't think China requires return plane tickets as many people go overland to Hong Kong and leave from there.
