is there any cheap hotel in macau who can speak english for backpackers like me?

I'm afraid a few staff in cheap hotels there can speak English. As your budget is limited, I'm afraid your requests for English speaking staff may not be satisfied.

Here ar two cheap hotels for reference. They are cheap but the facilities and service may not be good.
East Asia Hotel: No.1A, New Street (staff there on duty in day time can speak some English)
Hotel Central: No.264-270, Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro (new road)

There are also two youth hostels in the city. But the location is a little bit far from city center. You can check, one is in Heisha, the other in Zhuwan.
