How to get from Hongcun to Maanshan?Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Take a bus from Hongcun to Huangshan first. Near the station, take bus no. 8 or 9 or ride a taxi to Huangshan Train Station. There you can take a direct train to your destination.2

Is it possible not to back track back to Huangshan, we will waste 1.5 hours, looking at the map, there is a highway nearby, can we take a bus from the highway?

I am afraid not. You need to return to Huangshan first. After that, you may take a train to the city from Huangshan Railway Station. Also, you can take a coach to the city from Huangshan General Passenger Transport Station at No. 31, Qiyun Avenue. Good luck! ;)0
