How do i aquire a Student Visa for a year in China? and how do you renew it?

I am trying to go to a martial arts academy for three year and i really do not know the process for applying for it.

Natasha, the first thing you need to do is to get an admission letter from the school and ask it to help you to get the JW201 or 202 form. Then prepare your passport, a copy of the passport, an application form, a recently taken personal color photo, the original and photocopy of the admission letter and the JW201 or 202 form. Then go to the embassy and apply for an X type. If you want to stay for three years, you should apply for an X1 type. After you come to China, you can convert the X1 into a residence permt, so that you could live uninterruptedly for one year or more. Before the resident permit expires, go to the local Exit and Entry Administration Bureau and submit the extension application.
