how to get visit visa for a short visit?

I am a non Chinese Canadian and need to go to Shanghai only for 2-3 weeks for a private matter related to my old bank account there. How can I get one for a short private visit?

Hello Mike! You can apply for an L type by submmiting your valid passport, a photocopy of the passport's info page, an application form attached with your personal color photo, and an invitation letter from China or round-trip tickets and hotel reservatins. Keep in mind that you should go to the CVASC office which is in charge of your residence area rather than go to the embassy.
