About:Visa Policy of China

Will I need a visa???

I have a US passport. I will be landing from Los Angeles to Guangzhou and transiting to Beijing. I will land in Beijing and stay for 60 hours where I return to Guangzhou. My flight will then go to Nepal.

Yes, Jim, you need to apply for an entry permit in advance. If you want to use the 72 hour free transit policy and avoid the hassle of entry permit application, you should fly from LA directly to Beijing and then leave for Nepal from there within 72 hours.
