With tickets at hotel how are they validated with passport?

I am not sure how having tickets sent to Hotel we avoid queuing to validate identity - we have to get to Yiwu from Shanghai early morning on Saturday and it is not clear how hotel pickup is saving any time if we have to prove identity at station anyway?
