how do i validate my marriage certificate for a spouse visa

I live in England, My husband is working in Chongqing I wish to join him but need my marriage certificate validated. Who or how do I do this

You should first get your marriage certificate notarized by the local notary public and then get it authenticated by the FCO.
Lastly, go to the embassy of PRC and get the notarized marriage certificate attested.
