About:Marriage Registration in China

marrying a Chinese man as a nigerian

Am a nigerian I have been in China for just a year now am back to my country my chinese boyfriend just propose marriage to me now that am in Nigeria , how do we go about it because I really to get married to him in china

Bukola, you should first get a single status certificate from your country, and then have it notarized at the public notarization office. Then go to the Chinese embassy in Nigeria and have the notarized certificate authenticated by the embassy. After you enter China again, you should go together with your bf to the local Civil Affairs Bureau in your bf's residence area and register your marriage.

You should take your passport, China visa, and the single status certificate.
Your bf should take his ID card, household registration book, and a single status certificate issued by the local town-level government or his work unit.
