About:Longji Rice Terraces

Dragon bone rice terraces

My husband and I are planning a trip to China this year. Possible dates are April 21-May 2, September 8-September 19, or November 10-21. I am curious which time frme would be better to visit the rice terraces and what the palnting and harvesting season is there, what it will look like during those times. Thanks in advance for your help. Also how long would you recommend for a visit and anything that you would say is a must see. If none of these times are great we can plan a trip to this area next year instead.

The best time to visit the terrace is summer and autumn. At that time, the terrace is full of water, and in the harvest season, there will be amazing golden sea.

The planting is in April and the harvest is usually in October. In April, it’s all green like green ribbons striped in the field, while the terrace in Oct is stunning, all golden with your eyesight.
The suggest visit time is about 1 – 2 days. Apart from the terrace, the local dwellings are also must-see. You can experience their unique custom and taste their dishes.

The three periods you mentioned are all good time except November. You can just choose a date when there is no rainfall. Pay close attention to the weather forecast.
