About:Policy for Foreigners with Immediate Family Living in China

Marrying on an x2 visa, wanting to keep studying

I've been in china for over a year now and been with my girlfriend for 4 months. We have talked about the possibility of getting married in the future but I am not sure what the best option for me is:

- I'm currently on an x2 (teaching intern) working at a uni in sichuan.
- I have no degree, which means I cannot get a foreign expert permit in sichuan (although I have several years experience, including 2 years management and the school really wants me to stay)
- I plan on taking a 3 year online bachelors whilst I continue teaching.

If we want to stay together can:
- I get married on an x2?
- can I have an x2 and q type together? Or do I have to choose between staying and not working or leaving every 6 months?

Thanks

Paul, you can get married on your X2 type. But you can't have X2 and Q type together. Once you acquire Q type, your X2 type will be invalid. In fact, you already offended the regulation by working with X2 type. If the local police station learns about your situation, you might be fined or detained for working illegally. If you got paid, you should have applied Z type. But it's almost impossible for you to acquire the Z type because you have no diploma.

As long as you are paid, you should acquire a Z type, according to related law.

I'm not paid, I get a living allowance. This is not illegal, and is how many people become teachers
How about answering the question?

Paul, I think Patrick has answered your question. You can get married with X2. But you can't have X2 and Q type together. It's impossible for a person to hold two entry permits. When you will graduate? After your graduation, you can find a job and apply for a Z type. In this way, you can stay longer time but still can work.
