About:Visiting Chinese Family

Visiting my boyfriend's family

I'm staying in China with my boyfriend's family for about 15 days this summer. His parents are very wealthy and I want to give them a gift that they will appreciate. I'm in high school with many Chinese international students, but have never stayed with their families. I want to make a good impression for my family and myself. I'm from America and this is my first time meeting them. Do you have any suggestions?

Meghan, I have some pieces of advice for you. First, ask your boyfriend to tell you much information regarding of their parents, what they like and dislikes. Then you will know what you should do when you stay with them. Second, try to learn some basic Chinese. It's very useful when you communicate with them. As for the gift, I think you don't need to prepare a very expensive one. You know, they are rich. I guess that they have seen too many international brands. Considering of their ages, you may buy some health products, American ginseng etc. Lastly, no matter how open you are, please try to be a reserved girl when being with them.
