I am a romanian Citizen. I intend to apply for a single or double entry permt in CHINA embassy Bangkok. Does this cover mainland China? Provided I will stay 10 days in shenzhen I am assuming that this will cost THB 1,100. Is this correct? Does PRC provide for VOA? Thank you in advance, nicole PAVEL

Pavel, the embassy in Bangkok issues entry permits for mainland China. If you are applying for single entry, the cost would be THB 1100. If you applying for double entries, the cost would be THB 1650. However, the actual cost charged by the embassy may vary from this standard.

Under normal circumstances, only a few cities provide VOA, including Shantou, Xiamen, Zhuhai, Shenzhen, Haikou, and Sanya. The Shenzhen VOA is only valid for 5 days and cannot be extended, so you should apply one entry permit in advance.

The normal process takes four working days. If you pay extra money, you can get the entry permit wthin two or three working days. However, the embassy does not offer same-day service. The embassy is closed between April 13 to 15 for the Thai new year holiday.
