About:Chinese Embasy in Jamaica

authentication of Jamaican marriage certificate

Hi, I am an American citizen and have accepted a position in China. I will be moving to mainland this summer. I was married in Jamaica in 2005 and have a marriage certificate. I am wondering if there is an agency you would recommend that could help me navigate the process with the Jamaican ministry? I am very confused about how to proceed. Thank you for any information you can provide.

Erin, I think you may go to local notary office for consultation. Usually, you need to get your marriage certificate notarized first before sending it to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
