About:Slender West Lake

My new school will renew my residence permit next week.

I left my school after a year because they don't treat me well, the salary is very low and the place is very very far. My residence permit will end on April 27th 2015. Now my previous school is threatening me that they will cancel my residence permit and will report it to the embassy. Could they do that? they went to the police last week.

They can just cancel your work permit unilaterally. It's impossible that they can cancel your resident permit. However, they can inform the entry and exit management bureau of the PRC and the bureau may take action.

I personally don't think it's a big issue. Did you get the release letter from your previous employer? If so, you needn't be worried. Even your current work permit is cancelled, you still can apply for a new one with the help of your current employer. Then you can apply for a new Z type and change it into a resident permit.

Thank you for your reply it means so much to me. Sometimes I can't sleep well because of their threats. If only they treated me well of course I won't leave. Now I'm just hoping that my new school can renew my visa as soon as possible... Thank you so so much!
