About:Hong Kong Visa Policy

Business plus personal Travel to HK without Visa

I am travelling to HK on business initially between 22nd March to 2rd April (12 days) but then extending my stay till 8th April (6 days) - this takes my total travel to 18 days. I will be travelling without entry permit as there is not enough time for me to get one. I am told that if I travel to Macau within the initial 14 days visit, then my entry permit to HongKong automatically gets extended by another 14 days. Is this true? Also, when I arrive in HongKong, I would be carrying a return flight ticket 8th April - 18 days hence - will I be in trouble for not having an entry permit?

Hi Debarpriya, what you are told is true. If you travel to Macau within the initial 14 days' visit, you can get another 14 days after reentering Hong Kong. If you worry that the return flight ticket dated on April 8th will get you into troubles, you can buy a ticket from HK to Macau beforehand and present it to the immigration officer in case being inquired.
