About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Airport stopovers, will that affect my plans to go out and explore shanghai for 72 hours?

I'm flying from Japan to Shanghai and then the Philippines, but my flight from Shanghai to the Philippines has a 14 hour stopover in Guangzhou (which I won't be leaving the airport for). I won't be going through immigration or anything but I'm just a bit worried because it's so strict, thanks,.

Paul, it's likely that you can't use the 72 hrs transit entry permit waiver because you transit in two cities of China. However, I recommend you check it with the immigration office and see if you can still make use of the policy.
