How to travel by metro train from Guangzhou Int. Airport to Huacheng Avenue, Zhujiang New Town.

Twelve of us will be arriving at the airport about mid-night and there will be no metro train service at that time.Is it possible for us to hang around at the airport to wait for the first train in the morning?
How to travel to our hotel which is situated on that street when the train resumes service the next morning. Thanks
