Can I travel to Shenzhen from Hong Kong without Visa for couple of days?

I am a Russian citizen and planning to travel to Hong Kong to visit my client for a week. However during this week, I will need to travel to Shenzhen to visit my client's property as well. Could you please advise me whether I need to apply to travel to Shenzhen from Hong Kong for couple of days?

Thank you!

Cathy, I have got three solutions for your question.

1. You can apply for a single entry permit before your travel. This is the safest solution.

2. It's possible that you can get a five-day VOA at Shenzhen, but you are not assured to get it.

3. You can book flight tickets from Russia - Hong Kong - Guangzhou - a third country (e.g. Russia / UK). In this case, the entry permit is not required because you can make use of the 72 hour free transit policy. You can travel from Guangzhou to Shenzhen and then back to Guangzhou and leave China within 72 hours (count from the midnight after your arrival at Guangzhou).
