About:Requirements for China Green Card (Permanent Residence Permit)

Can I get a permanent resident card

I have been married to my husband for a little more than one year and I have worked in China for at least a year. Next year I will not be able to continue working where I am and therefore I will no longer be allowed to keep my working visa. Can I get a permanent resident card?

Kathryn, sorry to tell you that so far you are not qualified for getting the permanent resident card. Is your husband a Chinese citizen? If yes, you can try to apply for a Q1 type permit so as to live together with your husband.

Then only after you have been married for five years, is there the possibility for you to get the permanent residence card. At present, you can apply for the Q1 type to live in China.
