About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

Visa application in Chinese Embassy or Travel agency

Hi, I am a foreigner living in Japan for 1 year, I have the Japanese Resident Card and fill the forms. I would like to know if I apply in the Chinese Embassy or I should go in a travel agency?
How much time does it takes if I start the process on Friday (3/6/2015)?

Richard, what type are you going to apply? If you apply for L type, you are required to apply via a qualified tour agency. For other types, you can go to apply from Chinese consulate in your area. If you submit your application on March 6, you will pick it up on March 11.

The tourism Type. I am living for one year here with a student type, I have everything ready to apply. Should I look for an agency?

According to another guy who posted here, he went to apply from the Chinese consulate in person for a L type. However, the officers there told him that he should apply via a tour agency. So I think you should apply via a qualified tour agency too.
