Michel, I found Yidu city (宜都). I guess that Tantzeshan should be pronounced as Tanzishan in Chinese. Yes, there is a town that is called Tanzishan in Hunan Province. It is located in Hengnan County of Hengyang City. Is Tanzishan town the city you are looking for?

Hi Daniel!
Thank you for your help :) I checked the map and unfortunately it isnt Tanzishan.
I know that place just from an older book (1954). In that time it was called Tantzeshan. It has to be somewhere about 25 - 40 km south-west-south of Yidu city. So its still Hubei province. Not a big place i guess. Somewhere higher in mountains. There was build a church. Dont know whether it still stands but i would bet, because no bandit swarm was able to occupy it. "Tantzeshan, a crown line, two towers east and west." Thats how the reds called it.
Maybe someone has a hint for me how I can find it?
