About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Is the 72 hours visa free, also for a weekend trip, so Singapore-Shanghai-Singapore?

No, the itinerary does not qualify for the policy. However, if you hold singaporean passport, you do not need the entry permit for a trip less than 15 days.
