About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

74 hours, am I eligible for 72 hours free transit?

Would it be a big issue if with the flights arrival and departure times you were actually in China for 74 hours as opposed to 72?

Sophia, can you tell which airport you will arrive at? In fact, many airports where the policy is applied counts 72 hours from the 00:00 of next day. However, I do suggest you confirm this with your airline and the airport for sure because your airline may not allow you to board the plane.

Sophia, the airline may count 72 hours from your arrival time and departure time. So it's possible that you may be dennied for boarding the plane. Although Beijing airport didn't make an announcement that 72 hours is counted from 00:00 of next day, I once saw someone who visited Beijing during her 72 hours free transit period. So it's applicable in Beijing airport. I ask you to confirm this with the airport because I want you to make sure that the policy didn't change.
