going for an 2 month summer-internship program with a chinese company, what kind of visa

Hi I am Vedant from India, I would be visiting Shenzhen for the period of two months ie. April & May 2015.. for an internship program with a Chinese companyas a Part of MBA course in India.  I would get my passport by 5th March 2015. How much time it would take to get it if I apply after that. Is it, in any case possible to apply for the entry permit without a Passport, I mean with the application number or something?

Vedant, will you be paid or not? If you are not paid, you just need to apply for a F type for your internship. Otherwise, you need to apply for a Z type with the help of your employer. It's ok for you to apply in March if you leave in April. The processing period is very short, about four working days. However, it takes time for you and Chinese company to prepare required documents. At last, you need to submit your passport for your application. Therefore, it's impossible for you to apply without your passport.
